Cortana Kiwanis Christmas Parade: Meet I.C. Bells

"Greetings Citizens of Baton Rouge...

...my name is Ivan Cleveland Bells and I am a snowman. After spending much of 2011 in the north I have arrived here, in Baton Rouge to assist with the preparations for Santa’s arrival on Saturday December 10th at the Cortana Kiwanis / Downtown Christmas Parade.

It wasn’t but 10 minutes after my arrival here in Baton Rouge that I began to melt. As I pondered a seemingly short and fruitless visit, a Coca Cola delivery man named Todd noticed my predicament and helped me into the back of a red metal box which had wheels on it. After a short conversation Todd helped me locate members of the Cortana Kiwanis Club. They’re a friendly bunch. In fact I’ll be lodging with them during my stay here in town. I’d hoped to find a soft patch in the yard to call home but that was not to be. My Cortana Kiwanis friends noticed me melting, (again), and quickly put me in a large, round tub then positioned me under a hole in the ceiling which is dropping cold air on my head, (this is all so terribly embarrassing).

I hope to remain in Baton Rouge for the next 30 days, until Saturday, December 10th. That’s when Santa Claus will arrive here in Downtown Baton Rouge. His purpose will be to officially start the Christmas Season for you all by riding through Downtown in the Christmas Parade. My job is to ensure that you and your friends are there to welcome him with waves and cheers.

It’s a little hotter here than the Weather-Elf predicted. I wonder if I’ll last ‘til the 10th. Do me a favor and tell a friend that I. C. Bells has arrived.
